Overview
Areekkal Waterfalls located in Pampakuda Panchayat of Ernakulam district which was not known much to tourists until earlier. It received attraction in 2014, after the Kerala government launched the Areekkal tourism development project.It is located on the Piramadam-Vettimudu route and is around 100 feet in height with forest and rubber plantations in its background.
It is one of the major domestic tourist destination in Pampakuda.[5] The waterfall originates from Mannathur Hills in Tirumaradi Panchayat. It comes down from a height of more than 70 feet over the rocks. It falls on all three levels and there is a barricaded area built below the third level for travelers to access.
Important Tips
There are 2 ways to go to waterfalls. One way is to walk down the steps (about 150steps). But there is another road to waterfalls where there is no need to walk the steps and go. If you go by canal road, there is parking for cars also available. Also, no need to climb up and down those many steps.

How to Reach:
Areekkal Waterfall is about 40 kms from the Kochin international airport.
Byr Road: It is around 34 km from Vytillaand 13 km from Muvattupuzha. The journey will take around 1.5 hours from Fort Kochi.
